Default A Few Aerial Surf Shots

After voting today I took a drive down to Morro Bay to see what I could capture with my Mavic Air 2.

The first one is, IMHO, the best. I like that the surfer is crossing
diagonally. The surfer gets lost in the waves on the last two.

Do you get reactions from the people you fly over? Waves? Other suggestions?

Thanks for the comments.

Of those 4 shots I also like the first one, but perhaps for other elements such as the surreal effect of the disturbed sand in the water which created an odd marbleized look.

As for the last two it was more the lacy texture of the foam rather than the surfer that I found interesting.

I have got occasional reactions, and waves from folks in/on the water, more often they were leisurely paddle boarders in/on quiet, sheltered water rather than surfers dealing with wind and waves. Regarding the surfers in those shots I doubt they knew I was there. Most of yesterday's shots were taken at 95-70 ft above ground level (AGL) the lowest was at 56 ft AGL, and none of them was looking up.

The 2nd and 4th image are also not bad. BTW, there is no
aperture information in the EXIF.

Are these images interpolated? They are 5120 pixel wide.

One more thing, the new DJI Mini 2 is interesting because it
(finally) has RAW. Just wondering how good the RAWs are and if
you can attach a filter.

Thanks! I posted them because I didn’t think they were too bad. ;-)

That info is in the EXIF. You might know that the camera in the DJI Mavic Air 2 is a fixed aperture f/2.8, so ND filters become a much used tool. For those shots I used an ND4, and depending on brightness I also use ND8, ND16, & occasionally ND32 filters.

Are these images interpolated? They are 5120 pixel wide.

I used the 5K rather than original option for generating the SmugMug link. The original is 8000x6000 cropped to 16:9 or 8000x4500, then reduced for the link to 5120x2880. With the MA2 shooting RAW+JPEG the first original above the 48MP RAW(DNG) is a massive 96.6 MB and the accompanying JPEG 18.1 MB.

The DNG processed in Lightroom Classic with a 16:9 8000x4500 crop, exported to SmugMug as a JPEG is 2.9 MB.

One more thing, the new DJI Mini 2 is interesting because it

With the new DJI Mini 2 there is an improved 4K camera which adds RAW, and digital zoom. I have heard that the results are surprisingly good.
Since the original Mini could use filters, I am sure that all the usual manufacturers such as PGYTech, and Freewell will have Mini 2 filters out soon if not now.
