If the market is allowed to work as intended there will be new players.
I e.g. have a Godox Speedlite in the mail costing me less than one forth

Younogo are making interesting and seemingly slightly improved knockoffs
of Canon lenses and I'm sure that they will be able to make competitive
cameras as well given time. They should change their brand though since
most of their desired customer base in the export markets can't spell
nor pronounce it! ;-) There used to be a Chinese brand called Seagull
that was rather successful in selling retro cameras and B/W paper for
print...
