Link to what claims to be the world's largest miniature RR. There are
links to all sorts of RC action. OT, but fun.

The narrow depth of focus reminded me, one of my cameras has that as a
built-in optional filter. Seemed really weird to me, but I guess
someone must have wanted it.

Miniatur Wunderland was flooded when Storm Xaver brought a storm flood
to Hamburg in 2013.

You know how much that place must have cost to build?

Not as much as you think. They saved money by using cheap plastic.

According to the website (http://www.miniatur-wunderland.com), the
construction cost currently is 16,000,000€. The layout size is 1490
square meters.
The ticket price is 15€ for next year.

I might consider a visit the next time that I change trains in Hamburg
but then I would also consider "preordering" a ticket...

Shooting a model train layout can be interesting. These were taken at
a local model railroading club and processed a little different:

The first one, at a quick glance could pass for some antique photo -
maybe needs some scratches, blotches, dirt and so on.

2nd ... not so much.

That was not intended as a jokey, me thinks. There are very expensive
