Photo Preservation for Chemical and Digital Photographs (Product Info)
I am posting some brief and very useful information concerning a new
product in the Photography Industry. The product by the name of ArtShield is a clear coating designed to protect and enhance the longevity of fine art, graphics and photographs (both chemical and digital). Artshield is totally non-staining and will not affect the colors or the material of the object being coated. It renders a photograph non-yellowing. This product is of long term benefits for both the professional and the hobbyist. For more details please visit the Artshield website at http://liquiguard.com/artshield.htm Please accept my thanks for your time and interest Sincerely, Steven S. om... This is not viewed as spamming I am simply providing a brief description of my product with a URL for more information. You posted a commercial post in a newsgroup whose charter forbids commercial posts. That's "Spam" by most peoples definition. So that makes you either incredibly stupid or extremely arrogant . . . or . .. . . more likely a stupid arrogant plonker. now, why don't you take your Fartshield, shove it where the sun don't shine then punch a hole in the spraycan and maybe you'll blow yourself to somewhere most of the decent people on this newsgroup (and JermBoy too) wish you would **** off to -- Good Judgement Comes From Experience. Although they can serve a purpose such as UV blocking (if capable) The longevity of prints, slides, and negatives in general depends on how well they are processed and in particular, washed. Of course with prints it depends on the paper as well. Only after proper processing, using the proper materials can a coating be expected to add protection. In the case of B & W prints on archival quality paper proper fixing and then eliminating all traces of the fixer is essential. If this is not done a coating will accelerate the deterioration unless that coating itself is capable of rendering any remaining fixer inert. For a coating (any coating) to be proven safe in this realm will take many years of in-the-field use. Although I like to hear about new products available (in the proper news group and not my e-mail) this is probably not the best group in which to bring it up. The photography groups have a number of users who are rabidly anti-spam and see any reference by someone to their own product as spam even when done in an informative way.
