Default Pentax Takumar lens auto pin is stuck

The auto aperture pin on the back of my 50mm SMC Macro-Takumar (screw
mount) is stuck all the way in. I can still set the diaphragm to the
required stop, but the lens is always stopped down, and open-aperture
metering and focusing won't work.

Is this something that I could fix myself, or is it off to the lens
repair shop?

Thanks

J.

See if the auto/manual lever is set to manual on the lens.
If so set it to auto.

Check the link below. This guy shows how to take the Super-Takumar 50mm
apart and clean it. Maybe that will give you some clues.
