Default An HONEST discount camera place?

Wow, I'm shopping for a Digital Rebel and wow, have I found alot of
crooks out there. There's quite a few offering the Rebel Body for under
$500 but so far all of them are the type of places that strip the box of
the accessories such as battery and software, then there are others
that want up to $60 in "shipping and handling". I'm looking to buy the
camera, lenses, memory card and bag but so far it looks like I'll just
go to Best Buy or something, We all want to save a few $$$ and I don't
mind paying for what I want, but we all look for the best price, too bad
there's so many who what to present a good price when it's really just a
ripoff. Good thing for the Internet and the ability to Google for
reviews of an online camera store before making the plunge..

You won't find a 350D body for anywhere near $500 from an honest dealer.
Don't even try.

www.buydig.com has it for $765 shipped which is about as good as you'll
find.

I have to agree about Buydig.com. I have purchased from them before on a
small (under$100) order and just ordered a Olympus E300 with an extra lens.
They had the best price with free shipping and no sales tax.

Pay a little more for peace of mind. B&H, or Newegg.

For body only:
$790 + Shipping from B&H
$801 + $10 shipping from Newegg
$765 shipped from Buydig

I've purchase numerous times from all three and haven't any difference in
piece of mind. In fact, I've returned items twice to B&H; once to newegg and
never to buydig. "Peace of mind" ???

I was referring to peace of mind being able to safely
receive, or return what you paid for, I'm sure Buydig is
included in that category.
The online reviews of camera stores also have to be
taken with a grain of salt.

Hello, we don't know each other, however, a few thoughts on "Discount
Places"

First many retailers (read mom and pop and some national retailers) depend
on sales from products to people like you to stay in business. In America
our leaders have sold our country down the Chinese tube, and now we don't
make anything here. I am older, my days are numbered, but all the young
people behind are looking for that American Dream, and they (being
continually bombarded by ads, billboards, TV, etc advertising) continue to
purchase Chinese goods, there won't be anything made in the USA. If it's
not made here, where are the good high paying jobs going - not to those
places where it is made, i.e., China, India, Pakistan, Taiwan, etc, etc,
etc. Americans will find themselves working at McDonalds, Starbucks,
Target, Sears/K-Mart, and wondering what happened to that dream. No unless
you are real smart and can work in high tech, become an MD, win the lottery,
or become an electrician, or plumber, there won't be any "Jobs" because all
the big boys are pushing their workforce overseas, because of cheap labor.

So, if you want to find support for that camera, my suggestion is you go
down the street, and get it from a reputable retailer and pay his price, so
he stays in business, he pays his taxes, so by good fortune if you stay
employed, you don't pay his, because he is out of work.

Yes, Newegg is a good to purchase, yes, Best Buy is a good place to
purchase, So is any Reputable Camera Store, and they would like your
business and treat you better - in person - than either of the other two
outlets.

As longs as we look for the deal to save money, overseas jobs will increase
and our workforce (if not here then your country) will decrease and the
standard of living will go down.

Keep this in mind when looking for the deal.

We have a retailer here called Price Costco, Nationwide, went into the store
the other day to kill some time, while waiting for an appointment, nothing I
looked at, and I mean nothing, was made in the USA, everything was made in
another country, for pennies on the dollar and American workers displaced,
this is happening in Australia, and England, and France, and Germany, the
major industrialized nations, if we as purchasers don't stop that trend, our
children's ability to have a decent life will be gone. If not for you then
do it for the kids. I decided I don't need any more stuff, if something
breaks, I will buy another one used at the second hand store, or in the
antique store, and it will have a Made in the USA label, or it don't get
purchased either. I am however looking for some lenses, but I will pay the
rate asked by the camera store, so he stays in business instead of looking
on the Net and trying to get the deal, so he is paying his taxes, not me.
