Default [SI] New mandate is "open" - Due: 31 Aug

Let's keep the SI going.

Past admins have done great and I hope to do as well for all SI
participants.

A new admin is still sought (hint to Bret, Helen, Ken, ...)

Mandate:

Open
(Anything goes* ... except manipulation)

Submit photos to: si & aliasimages com

Due date: 2008.08.31 (Sun)

Posting date: 2008.09.01 (ish; I may be traveling)

Posting location: www.pbase.com/shootin/open

*-----------------------------------------------------

Rulz exceptions:

1) Each participant may submit up to three (3) images.

2) Max dimension: 1200 pixels horizontally; 1000 pixels vertically.

JPG File size: 300 kB or less (150 kB is usually more than enough).

(Images that are beyond these dimensions and file size will not be
re-sized or posted. The participant will be notified and may then
re-submit re-sized images.)

*-----------------------------------------------------

Naming: OPEN_photog-name[_old].jpg

use the "_old" for photos taken prior to 2008.08.05.

Comments: It is recommended that you include comments in your e-mail
about the subject, technique, equipment, settings, etc. These will be
added to the 'title' area with the image.

*-----------------------------------------------------

All submissions are automatically assumed to be the Copyrighted work of
the participant making the submission. The participant grants perpetual
non-exclusive non-revenue making posting rights of the image as
submitted to the 'shootin'.

Due to Copyright liabilities for the admin, participants who post
anonymously must have a valid (functional) return e-mail address where
they can answer questions. Otherwise at the sole discretion of the
admin the photo may not be posted. Privacy will be maintained.

" *Anything goes " : photos determined, in the sole opinion of the
admin, to be obscene, racist, excessively violent or similarly
objectionable will not be posted in the SI Pbase pages. The photog will
be notified by return e-mail.

As always, photos should not be manipulated beyond editing for the SI.
Allowed are (examples): cropping, re-sizing, minor adjustments to color,
contrast, brightness and sharpening.

To garner more participation, a similar invite will be posted at:

rec.photo.digital
rec.photo.digital.slr-systems
alt.photo

Otherwise, the rulz are at: www.aliasimages.com/si/rulz.html (These will
be tidied up shortly.) See temporary exceptions to the rulz above.

Cheers,
Alan

A vote of thanks to Alan Browne for having the guts to pick up and run
with the Shoot-in.

Those of us who support or have supported the SI, front up now with some
images; those who have objections, real or fancied, please just view the
pics and keep the vitriol out.

Alan, I presume si & aliasimages com is a fudge, and not a typo?

Cheers,

Colin D.

Thanks Colin.

Best thanks would be to participate!

Hell, it's an open subject and you can throw in 3 images!

Yep. An attempt at avoiding the 'bots... replace the & with the round
thing, etc...

Cheers,
Alan
