I would like to invite you to see my last update. It's a demonstration of scientists, in the streets of Paris. http://www.monochromatique.com/science2/ Regards, -- Daniel Rocha - Photographie http://www.monochromatique.com |

Scientists making a demonstration would mean showing an experiment, or some such. I think in this context "demonstration" is the more accurate term. A "protest" requires that you oppose a person, thing or cause, whereas a "demonstration" may be in support or opposition. This is in fact a demonstration *for* science. And for research. It is not a demonstration *of* science. -- J www.urbanvoyeur.com |

See 2nd image "Contre la précarité" http://www.monochromatique.com/scien...ience2_02.html http://www.monochromatique.com/scien...ience2_09.html "Contre l'asphyxie programées... etc." http://www.monochromatique.com/scien...ience2_34.html "Victime ..." It is a _protest_ against government efforts against research. Besides, it is in Paris. All "demonstrations" are protests. Not at all: It is the word which I would have used (which is why I looked it up in the first place, just to be sure). Since the OP is probably not an English native speaker, I find it a bit nasty to correct him when he is right all along... |

Who cares what nonsense those sheep burning soap dodgers get up to. Especially if they don't even have the decency to put up those banners in english so those of us in the civilised world can read it light blue touch paper and stand well back ;P |
