Kodak Elite Chrome 100?

Does anyone know whether Elite Chrome 100 (EB) is an amateur version of one
of the Kodak pro films such as E100S, or otherwise. If so, which film is it.

Current EB is the consumer version of E100G. Older EB was the consumer
version of E100S.

Yes. It has just been reformulated. As I understand it, the new version
(with "New" and "Finest-grained..." on the box) is very similar to E100G,
and the old one, E100S.

The new one is superb for astronomical work because it has almost zero
reciprocity failure.

The two have similar speed but the new one is much finer-grained.

For the older EB/E100S, one of Kodak's slide engineers said that
in a discussion forum at photo.net. More specifically, his claim was
that EB, E100S, and E100SW are all basically the same film, but with
slight differences in colour balance - E100S being the coolest and
E100SW being the warmest.

For newer EB/E100G, I think I saw a statement from Kodak saying
that but I'm not 100% sure. The fact that E100G replaced E100S,
and a new EB came out, at the same time, with the same claimed
improvements, seems highly coincidental :-)

This is a similar situation to the "New Sensia 100", out just a few months
after the release of Astia 100F. The circumstantial evidence is
overwhelming...

Right; that agrees with the data sheets.

I actually got a statement from Kodak saying that the upgrade in Elite
Chrome 100 was essentially the same as the change from E100S to E100G.

Also that E200 (and presumably Elite Chrome 200) are slated for a similar
upgrade in the near future -- they will become much finer-grained.
