ANNOUNCEMENT: Foveon F19 Sensor
Finally the coveted Foveon technolgy is being made available to
compact camera market. I love my SD10, but it would be nice to have a small compact for when I don't want to carry my heavy camera bag around. This new sensor incorporates Foveon's breakthrough X3 technology to directly capture color in three layers, just like film. I really feel sorry for Sony investors. http://dcviews.com/press/Foveon-F19.htm Hope this helps, Orville |

I don't think Sony is very worried. |

Now the P&S crowd can have crappy skin tones too. Hope this helps... |

I was impressed with the quality of the sensor but not with the design and build quality of the cameras or lenses. -- Yours Zebedee (Claiming asylum in an attempt to escape paying his debts to Dougal and Florence) |

The SDx cameras output image resolutions that are on a par with any 6 MP Bayer sensor camera despite whatever resolution label you place on it. Numbers mean nothing, the output is what matters. |

The *seem* "as sharp", which is a completely different thing than having the same resolution. -- John P Sheehy |
