Am looking for a cheap DC with strong flash.
FuJi FinPix A310 is no longer for sale which is the one I know of strong
flash.(Effective range (at ISO 200): 1.0ft-19.7ft (W)/2.6ft-18.0ft (T))

There is no on-camera flash that's nearly as powerful as an external
flash. So get a camera that lets you use an external flash.

But, if you're trying to take pictures of the moon, as your name
implies, there's no flash in the world that's bright enough. Except
maybe an H-bomb... ;-)

Get a camera with an external flash hot-shoe (for the simplest approach, get a
camera with a TTL flash hot-shoe and use a TTL flash that is compatible, but
this can be much more expensive -- it isn't that hard to learn to use a generic
flash). I've shot 30-50 feet with my flash (ISO 200-400 to get 50').

The Canon G6 and the Speedlite 220EX (or a third party equivalent) are a
nice combo.

Greetings Moon,

Most of the general use or point and shoot cameras do not have strong
flashes, though some are rated to be 16-18 feet. I have found that a camera
with flash synch is the best way to go. It does make a difference. For Kodak
cameras like the DX7590 - 6490 - Z7590 a pulse is sent to the flash. The
camera does not talk to the flash as some do, i.e. Nikon SB28 and the like
for other models. Rather, the Kodak cameras only send a pulse to fire the
flash. Any management of the flash is done on the flash. The cameras have
adjustable shutter, aperture, and ISO settings so you can control the light
accordingly.

For me I use a flash frame where the camera is mounted to the frame along
with the flash. I can position the flash so it is always over the camera
lens to lessen flash shadow. The slight expense significantly extends the
flash range of the camera.

Talk to you soon, Moon,

Ron Baird
Eastman Kodak Company
