That pooch has the right idea. Good use of light and contrast. The greys of the stone are off set by the black of the dog and the darkness of the water. IMHO, if you had a bit more of the river and placed the dog a little below center line or above it, a stronger image it could be. Still love the angles of the stone work and the dog and the edge of the dock. Keep at it Daniel. Draco Getting even isn't good enough. Doing better does.

Regards, It's very difficult to get shadow detail with black animals.....I have a black cat, (since 2004) and I haven't been able to get a good detailed photo of him yet!
