The last few generations it seems like Canon brings something out and Nikon
brings something similar out 6 months or a year later. Unless it's the 1D, in
which case it took them almost 3 years. Or the 1Ds, which is about 18 months
old and has no Nikon competition at all.

Patience. They'll probably announce their 8 Mpix consumer model next February.

D2X to put away the 1D MkII at Photokina. D90 to put away the 20D - best
guess so far, February. Maybe D50 at the same time to finally put the drebel
out of its misery.
