My EOS-M fits a wide coat pocket and there's plenty of room in my

it depends on the coat. my nikon slr fits in jacket pocket, with a
couple of lenses in other pockets.

A D3000 body with the lenses on the side?

d7100

Really wide coat it is!

not really.

Looks good to me, I'd definitely consider this camera. I'm not getting
any younger and I'm growing tired of lugging heavy gear around.

You might find an MFT camera even smaller an lighter, with a better
choice of lenses too.

That's what I did 6 years ago.
Never regretted it!

Except for Pentax, but their market is very small.

That is one of the major reasons I made the move to the Fujifilm
X-system. My DSLR hasn't left the house since April. My APS-C X-E2 has
lessened the load without a loss in IQ. With a Domke courier bag which
can hold my extra lenses (14mm, 35mm, 55-200mm) some extra batteries,
the entire kit seems to weigh less than my D300S+battery grip, even when
using a Blackrapid strap.

I am seriously considering the X-T2, and I hear there is a possibility
of an X-E3 sometime in 2017. As much as I am impressed by the D500 it
was just two years too late for me as a D300S successor, and as I am
reluctant to lug my D300S kit around I can't see that the D500 is going
to drag me back to the Nikon DSLR camp.

No buyer's remorse about mine.
