Default Jessops - you may wish to know

After much deliberation and research and try outs I have just bought a new
Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ10EB. Well its a big expense for someone on a fixed
income in these days of poor markets.

I thought group members in the UK may like to know that Jessops will match
or, as in my case, beat any deal obtainable on the web. I found a very good
package deal from a 'best price' UK dealer and Jessops beat there price and
gave me 64 mb extra SD memory and discounted a warranty/accidental damage
insurance too. In all I saved a little over 23% on the published/catalogue
cost of the package. In addition they gave me very sound advice about local
second hand dealers where I could trade in the equipment I no longer wanted.

I have kept one complete 'film' based kit as a stand by should I need to
take advantage of the insurance.

regards Freddie Cooke.

Ps : No. I am not an employee and I have no pecuniary interest in the
company

Jessops' website gives a price of UK pounds £2350.- for the Nikon 9000
scanner. The price at B & H in New York for exactly the same product
is the equivalent of UK pounds £1111.- ($2000.- us dollars). Do you
think that Jessops would match that price now?
