Darkroom timer help?
I bought a LABEX-Wallner MC509W Darkroom Meter/Timer. It was new in
the box and also came with the densitometer and color analyzer modules. I got it off eBay from a seller with a long, decent history. When I first went to calibrate and use it, I realized it didn't have its step tablets for calibrating and the densitometer module wouldn't power up consistently. The seller was on a trip and for a month and said he'd deal with it upon return. That date has come and passed and I see he is active on eBay again but won't answer emails (also has a similar recent feedback). I'm feeling more and more that I'm stuck with his problem. I decided to attempt using it with a step tablet I own and got the basic functions down. The second darkroom session found me popping the main fuse in the main timer unit (the power module for the other units). A replacement fuse popped righted away, too. I can find nothing on the Internet related to this gear. It seems of very high quality and while I had it working, I could see that it would be a good friend in the darkroom. Does anyone know the history or likely locations for circuit diagrams, repair service, technical data, etc? The manuals list Labex Engineering in Pebble Beach CA and the units are marked Wallner from Germany. I've posted a picture of the gear at: http://chibardun.net/~craigclu/WALLNER50.jpg |

Try an email to fem-kunze.com I did it without success for another Wallner tool, then I called them at +49 8236 96080 (Central European Time) and managed to find someone speaking english who told me they can send a copy (in german) but I had to send them an email at with my address. As it was a couple of days ago, I've still not received the copy but hope I'll do. They do not seem to be very internet accustomed, their website looks pretty old ... Darkroom timer help?
I received a message on the German site that was recommended. I was
told that Heinze Kunze himself was involved in the Wallner equipment development and that this would be the best resource. Hopefully we're onto the right trail!
