Al Qaeda DID have training camps within the territory of Iraq before the recent war. You are simply wrong if you say they didn't. Got any cites to support that claim? They were limited to a far corner of Iraq and limited in scope, but they were there. Did the Iraq government know about them & approve of them? How would we know? The same question could be asked of Saudi Arabia. Did they know about the terrorist attack of 9/11 and approve of all their citizens taking part in it? The Bush-bashers suggest that we should have attacked Saudi Arabia instead of Afghanistan (or Iraq), but Saudi Arabia could have been completely unaware that the attack was going to happen, or that so many Saudi's would be taking part in it. So if there was no justification for attacking Saudi there is even less for attacking Afghanistan and none at all for attacking Iraq. I think there was justification for selectively taking out the training camps in Afghanistan. SO why didn't the US do that? No, it didn't it did a full scale invasion despite eye on the ground doing recce. How easy this is to do without impacting the rest of the country is another question......Also, if the camps were operating with the explicit permission of the country's leadership, then perhaps punishment is in order. That si up to the UN otherwise the UK has reason to bomb the USA. Iraq is a separate question altogether. I never said that the 9/11 attacks justified it. That is a contention that has been hatched up by the Bush bashers for propaganda purposes. No it was hatched up by Bush...... -- \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ \/\/\/\/\ Chris Hills Staffs England /\/\/\/\/ \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ |
