British artist scoops first prize in the 2018 Sony World Photography Awards
In article .com,
Savageduck says... The answer to that is not simple. There is no indication of how the images were processed other than their appearance, and your unconfirmed assumptions. As to why each won a particular category was up to the judges, each with their particular tastes, and biases. In any photography contest there is no way to guarantee that the taste, and biases of the judges will match yours. Actually I'm just wondering, if the photographer submits the out of camera JPEG instead of that heavily processed RAW, does he still win the contest? Of course there is no way to know what processing was applied, but out of the winning images only a few look like they came straight out of a camera. Some have been "artificially aged", such as for instance the photo of the boy with the gun. -- Alfred Molon Olympus E-series DSLRs and micro 4/3 forum at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MyOlympus/ http://myolympus.org/ photo sharing site |
