In my experience, LEDs tend to render very funky, inaccurate colors, and are
perhaps the worst light source for most subjects.

In my experience, LEDs tend to render very funky, inaccurate colors, and
are perhaps the worst light source for most subjects.

They also burn pretty cool, so they are pretty good for slide viewing.....In
recent years, they have been able to manufacture LED's with different
spectra, so combinations can be used to produce a reasonable, "white" light
that isn't too bad for slide viewing....For a long time they couldn't make
blue led lights, but they have overcome that problem during the last 10
years.....They are also pretty good for battery powered devices....They will
light on only about 3 volts, and the small ones will draw only about 20
milliamps or less.......
