CRR (Camera Repairs & Restoration) for Leica in England
This appears to be the last resort for my Leica M3 with the blacked out
finder. According to their website http://www.angelfire.com/biz/Leica/ they are able to fix the finder by resilvering the prisms and re-cementing them. My question is this: has anyone on this group used their services? Can I rest easy in the knowledge that my M3, should I decide to send it to them for repairs, will be safely returned to me in South Africa? Many thanks. -- The good old days start now. |

Yes, you can safely use Peter.
He used to work for Leica, and was trained by them in Wetzlar, he is probably one of the best independant Leica Technicians around, maybe even better than those still working for Leica. If it doesn't work out with CCR, I've listed some options in Germany. I know the last one (Wiese): He's probably the cheapest, but I don't know if he does resilvering. Safety: Shipping would be insured anyway, and will probably account for a good part of the bill... ______________________________ Fotomechanik Kielgas Service for LEICA-Cameras and Lenses Baumstrasse 19 30171 Hannover/Germany Tel. +49-(0)-511 - 814 699 Fax +49-(0)-511 - 819 936 Knoch Messgeräte Kundendienst für LEICAMETER Donaustrasse 105 90451 Nürnberg Tel. +49-(0)-911 - 646 075 Fax +49-(0)-911 - 649 4897 LEICA Kundendienst Oskar-Barnack-Strasse 11 35606 Solms Tel. +49-(0)-6442 - 208 190 Fax +49-(0)-6442 - 208 339 METZ Kundendienst Ohmstrasse 55 90513 Zirndorf ZÖRK Film & Phototechnik Gollierstrasse 70 80339 München Tel. +49-(0)-89 - 508 568 Fax +49-(0)-89 - 504 405 Reparatur-Werkstatt Richard Wiese für LEICA-Nachbauten, Zorki, Fed, etc. Danziger Strasse 47-49 20099 Hamburg Tel. +49-(0)-40 - 850 3490 |

Good Luck That's good news! Thanks! The bad news is that he seems to be swamped and is only accepting new work in June. :-( -- The good old days start now. |

If I don't come right with CRR Luton I will pursue these options. Many thanks. -- The good old days start now. |
