Default Photo locations near Salt Lake City???

If you drive past the Capital Building, there is a hill that has a
bunch of houses. There is a lookout up there where you can see the
whole Salt Lake City valley. You can see the SLC Intl. Airport, the
Great Salt Lake, and of course Salt Lake City. I have gotten some good
shots up there. Check out my photo blog:
http://asolidstate.blogspot.com and there are a few shots that I have
taken up there, on it.

Hope this helps,
Mark

The interior of the capital is also quite nice if they will let you photograph
in there.

A few other suggestions:
The Salt Lake City Cemetery on the Avenues - there is a statue there
called "the Little Angel" that is heart-wrenchingly beautiful. There is
a caretakers office at the cemetery that may be able to direct you.
The Great Salt Lake west of the city. There is/was a harbor there.
The sun sets over the lake.
Night shots at Temple Square. Very decorated for Christmas but a lot
of people around. There is a reflecting pool to the east of the temple.
The city-county building at 4th south and state street. Re-done in
the 90's and the architecture is somewhat unique in Salt Lake City.
The new library building on 4th south and 2nd east. You can gain
egress on the top floor and have a panorama of most of the city.
There is access to the Jordan River. There is a nature walk along
much of the river through the valley.
Farmington Bay Bird Refuge is about 15 miles north of Salt Lake
City. Lots of birds, even in the winter.
Antelope Island is about 45 minutes north of Salt Lake City. There
is the chance to photograph American Bison there.
The tourist bureau, downtown, can give you maps and directions to
all of these.
