Prosumer vs DSLR for copying slides
Greetings! I want to copy slides [few thousands] after projecting the
slides on the screen. Which will be better? DSLR has one problem - one can not see the pictures in the LCD as one can see in the Prosumer P&S before taking the pictures. DSLR has the advantage of bigger image sensors? What is your opinion? With thanks. |

With thanks. It realy depends on if you already have one of the two cameras that you describe. If you have one, try it and see how it goes (it won't cost you anything, except time). Otherwise a better suggestion is to get a scanner, there is less shot-to-shot setup, you don't need a projector or screen and so you can just step away from the computer if you are sick of digitising for the day without having to put them away. |

Prosumer vs DSLR for copying slides
Hello,
Another option would be to use a full-frame DSLR and a slide-copier barrel. I have used this way with an 1Ds MkII, and it worked pretty well (and faster than a typical slide scanner). Of course, you must have extremely clean slides (ICE is very useful in a slide scanner). N.Fotis |
