Default Fuji Finepix 2800 Zoom - help please

I am a novice photographer and I have a Fuji Finepix 2800 Zoom that I
have had for quite some time. Please forgive me if my questions sound
dumb.

I only have a 16mb and 64mb memory card. I want to buy a larger memory
card. What is the maximum size that is compatible with the camera? Do
I have to buy a certain brand? Also, is there a certain type of card
that will "speed up" the time it take the write the picture to the
card, or is the delay caused by the camera itself?

Thanks in advance

Your camera's manual should have a table in it listing the number
of shots you can take using different card sizes. It's possible
that the camera may be compatible with cards larger than those
listed, but it will probably show cards larger than 64MB. If you
don't have the manual you can probably download a PDF version from
Fuji's website. All brands should work, but it's probably best to
stick with one of the name brand cards, such as SanDisk, Lexar, even
Fuji or Olympus. If your camera uses xD cards and you also have or
think you may someday get an Olympus camera, the Olympus cards have
an added (minor) feature that allows a panoramic mode to be used
with Olympus cameras.

Most cards should be fast enough so that the camera is the speed
bottleneck, not the card. Still, try to avoid really slow cards.
Again, I don't know if the 2800 uses xD cards, but if it does, all
of them should be adequately fast. The really inexpensive, slow
cards are usually CF. Faster cards can transfer files quicker using
card readers, and might be needed if you also want to take "skip
free" videos. (assuming that the 2800 has video capability).

What is the maximum size?

Don't know, but I would be very surprised if it doesn't support at
least up to 512Mb. having said that, it's only a 2Mp camera, so I
would think a 256 Mb card would be a nice size, and that size card is
often tossed out at very low prices - keep your eyes open..

Is there a certain type of card?

It takes SmartMedia only I believe. But like ASAAR said, you really
need to read your manual, or just take it with you to the store.

According to
http://www2.fujifilm.co.uk/digital/c...eras/range.php
The maximum card size the camera supports is 128MB. This will give you 166
images at the highest quality and resolution.
