Default DVD Ripping Software or Mac

I am using a new iMac (duo Intel processor) running OS 10.6.2.

Does anyone here have any experience using software that allows one to
duplicate DVD's?

What do you prefer?

TIA

MacTheRipper or MTR (you have to jump through hoops to get it)
http://www.ripdifferent.com/forum/

RipIt
http://thelittleappfactory.com/ripit/

Mac DVDRipper Pro or MDRP
http://macdvdripperpro.com/

Each have their Pros & Cons. MTR has had legal issues and the latest
versions are obtained through a back door, so to speak.
RipIt and MDRP are currently legitimate and do a good job. of those
MDRP has a slight edge @ $9.95

Then there is Handbrake, which is very processor intensive and slow.

Illegally duplicating/ripping copy protected material is much easier on a PC
than a Mac.
Whether it is worthwhile or not is another question.
Since you have a Mac you are stuck in the twentieth century with DVDs rather
than Blu-ray on your glorified notebook.

Agreed, but it makes some duplicating, burning, and format conversion simple.

To rip any of the various protected discs MTR, RipIt or MDRP are
needed. Even then MTR is not foolproof. RipIt and MDRP perform better.

Handbrake is just too slow and awkward.

actually it's pretty much the same on any platform.
