the following: No. Validation will not help those in the slightest. Validation simply means you have created your site to comply with a standard you have declared. And if you've created your site using someone else's site creation wizard, there is bugger all you can do about it. ???? I'm mystified. What ever happened to using your favourite editor to fix coding problems? Nothing. I'm assuming that this site is sold as a package to non coders. The OP probably has as much chance of changing the core code (which in turn is probably generated by a server side script) as he has of knitting fog. But hey, if you want to find a way for him to do it, knock yourself out. Here is his site: http://rob1963.photium.com/ And here, I guess, is the way it was made http://www.photium.com/ -- Geoff Berrow (put thecat out to email) It's only Usenet, no one dies. My opinions, not the committee's, mine. Simple RFDs http://www.ckdog.co.uk/rfdmaker/ |

If your pages are validated, they are much more likely to run on low powered, palm type devices and display properly than if they are not. I'd like to see you prove it. Since the vast majority of pages out there do not validate, users of hand held devices must be having a pretty hard time. A text editor can fix any incompatibility in the code if you are patient and know what you are doing. I'm starting to lose patience. Did anyone except me bother to take a look at how the pages were made? -- Geoff Berrow (put thecat out to email) It's only Usenet, no one dies. My opinions, not the committee's, mine. I dont think it maters that it might be hard to read on a phone as its full of large images. |

Since the vast majority of pages out there do not validate, users of hand held devices must be having a pretty hard time. As a matter of fact, they are. Lots of pages do not display in anything approaching the intended form. A text editor can fix any incompatibility in the code if you are patient and know what you are doing. I'm starting to lose patience. Did anyone except me bother to take a look at how the pages were made? Sure did. So the problem with downloading it, editing and putting it back would be . . . . |
