DV Camcorder - Burning problem
HI all,
New to this world of amazing IT. Bought a laptop recently, and tried to connect my DV Camcorder to it to burn DVD's. The footage has been taken from my DVD and is now on my laptop, via a USB as there is no firewire port on the laptop. I have installed NERO on the laptop but when i look up the file to burn it claims it is not a valid file. It is saved as a avi file, but it is looking for another type of file, Ibo or something i have never heard of....it's driving me mental, any help would be greately received .! Thanks p9rtr |

Thanks p9rtr Buy a firewire card for your laptop. They are cheap. Not wonder it did not work properly.. Wake up! Using a Firewire connection will not solve the OPs problem. The avi file must be rendered into a file system (more than one file) to be burned onto a DVD for playback. The best way to do this is to get a video editing application. Bill is correct. The app described at this webpage is one way to do it: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/arch...vd_avi2dvd.cfm and there are many others. Afterdawn is a good place to look for such tools. Phil |
