What about Erwin Puts and his Leica M lenses?

Here's a comparison:

As for whether film is dying, here's an indication:

Digital sales are all set to take over film camera sales.

Kodak expects film sales to drop by 12% worldwide and 20% in the US.

In Singapore, digital camera sales spurted 108% in 2002 and 40% in
2003.

Agfa closes its disposable cameras and film business.

Digicam sales grow 280% in China.

40% of US households to have a digicam each

Nikon to stop maufacturing compact 35mm film cameras

Now, before you jump on me, let me clarify that I neither a film-zealot
nor a digital evangelist. With current technologies and prices, both
have their uses and place.

Cheers,

Siddhartha

What would change if they did or didn't? Would your analog cameras stop
working? Would it have any influence on your sperm count? Why don't you
simply go and take some pictures?

Ralf

I do take some pictures using film. But I am also interrested in the new
technology. And people here often claims that the best 24x36 films equals
16-20 MP digital. I just want to see some test which proves it. The tests I
see often shows that a 6MP digital has more details than Fuji Velvia....and
I don't like that :-)

You use a waist level finder on your Nikon F? Why? Just remove the prism
and focus
directly on the focusing screen.

George

Why? For obvious reasons: the waist level finder increases contrast
by blocking stray light, and it has a built-in loupe if you need to
examine the viewfinder image more closely.
