I like it. The DOF is just enough to read all the wording and the
thumb is tack sharp. Would make a good image for an adver. campaign to
get the vote out.

Well done image.

But do the french get to vote twelve times in the same election?? ;-)

Again, very well done Daniel. Keep at it.

Note the tagline on the card:

"Voting is a right, it's also a civic duty"

They got 84% of eligible voters out to this round. Much more than 5
years ago.

Final round is May 6.

Very cool. Wish we could get that many here in the USA.

Think hard on that: Do you really want the presently
unvoting half deciding the future?

Can't be bothered to vote: shouldn't be voting.

Simplistic view. Part of the reason is the blatant gerrymandering of
electoral districts in the US that all but guarantee an outcome for one
party or another in key areas. Why vote in a district that has a
programmed outcome?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:CA_11thCD_clip.png
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:C...ct_38_2004.png
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:TX22_109_abcdef.gif

The article from whence the above images come explains the key pitfall
of gerrymandering (other than its blatent anti democratic effect):
wasted votes.

An independent redrawing of district lines is seriously needed. In the
US, regrettably, it is polical interests who, after each census,
"adjust" the lines

The two-party system of the US also results in voter disinterest as the
two main parties are almost always the 1-2 finishers and independents or
smaller parties have no representation in the end.

In a sense the US has a one-party system as the contributors for most of
the Rep/Dem budgets are the same corporate interests. Perhaps a law
outlawing contributions to both parties should be enacted? Choose one
and stick by your horse. Otherwise it is simple obligation purchasing.

Cheers,
Alan

I curious to see how many voters on the 2nd round. Must wait.
But it's a very good thing for the democracy.

I'm happy about that.
