Default best way to photo garments for web catalog?

I see garments in national magazine articles that show clothes shaped
in what appears to be a naturalistic human form but the photo shows
absolutely no body, but does show all inside back portions of the
garment just as if an invisible person were wearing them...example
Allure Magazine, March 2004 issue, page 98 and 99. How is this
acomplished?
I wonder because I have recently had to photo a bunch of items for a
local festival's website. Thanks for all info.
