I'd call that D23 Minus; minus 3 grams metol and 15 grams
of sulfite. That 1.2 grams of CO3 + 1H2O is there to make us

out, sensitive insturmentation might see the difference.
The bromide I'm quite sure is superfluous. As for the
undiluted, I'd be out of the one-tray one-shot way
of processing if I took that seriously.
BTW, to my surprise I did find that D23 will make
a good print. It is slow though and additional exposure
is needed. The results look like those from Ansco 120.
FWIW, I've a can of ACU-1 and a few other items ordered.

To increase the activity since it lacks the 3 grams of Metol. A gram
of carbonate actually has a significant kick when added to a film
developer. I still don't like carbonates for film developers though.

Agreed.

IMO, a slightly better formula would be :

Metol 5.0g
Metaborate 1.0g
Sulfite 50g
WTM 1.0L

Could be mixed up as a nice 3X concentrate and diluted prior to use.
Of course I like even numbers. Putting in a X.Xg of anything other
than Phenidone has always struck me as silly.
