Canon 550EX-2.nd curtain sync

Russian firmwa CF15: Shutter curtain sync [NO] ---does not work
0: 1st curtain sync
1: 2nd curtain syncDutch firmware also mentions nothing so i never bothered
to install it...

Firstly, the camera setting should override the flashgun setting.
Secondly, you can manually set the 550 to 2nd curtain via the mode
button, as per the 550 instruction booklet.

Yes, in an ideal world "the camera setting should override
the flashgun setting". The problem is that the camera
setting simply does NOT override the flashgun setting.

Secondly, you can manually set the 550 to 2nd curtain via
the mode
button, as per the 550 instruction booklet.

So it says. Those instructions have been followed to the
letter - and they do not seem work on my 550EX. Tests
crealy shows that to 550EX syncs on the first curtain.

As per the manual, the EX-series Speedlight flash-settings override
the camera settings. It makes sense to me, because it's usually faster
to change the flash settings on the flash than to do it on the camera.
The camera's custom functions can be used for flashes that have no
setting for second curtain sync.

work....

work....
