Default Canon S200 Flash

Is there a way to adjust the flash settings on the S200 camera. When I
shoot a picture with the flash the picture comes out extremly dark, it
doesn't matter if the subject is 2ft away or 12ft away, they all turn
out the same, dark. If I turn the flash off the picture turns out
lighter. When I look at the flash it does not look as bright as it
should be. Is there a way to correct this? Thanks

Ryan
