JJS and group,
Thanks for the advice. I have never seen any reaction to two crisscrossed IR beams with Hummingbirds. That doesn't mean that they don't see it. I just haven't noticed anything. I am going to rig up a small solenoid to trip the push button on an existing cable release (to push the cable release button) which will be screwed into the shutter release. Bob's reference to the solenoid article solved my problem. Thanks very much. Regards Jack
