I've just received a new SD card from an Amazon supplier. The listing was
for a 4GB class 10 30mb/s card - a class 6 30mb/s card has arrived. They
are
both 30mb/s, what's the class 6 and class 10 telling me? I can't even
find a
class 6 30mb/s on the Sandisk website.

well, first off, a millibit per second is really slow. (MB=megabye,
mb=millibit).

Nope, mb is megabit

That would be Mb, but thanks for playing.

Yup!
bit = 1 or 0
Kilobit = kb (103); and because of binary logic we add to the
confusion; Kilobyte = Kb (1024)
Megabit = Mb (106); Megabyte = MB (10242)
Gigabit = Gb ( 109); Gigabyte = GB (10243)

As for the mysterious mb, or millibit, you must have had your tongue
jammed firmly in your cheek. For they only exist in a World of
micro-unicorns, or some esoteric branch of quantum physics I am not
familiar with. ;-)

I guess those superscripts didn't work too good!
one more try;

kb(103) ; Kb (1024)
Mb (106); MB (10242)
Gb (109); GB(10243)

If that doesn't work I promise I won't try a third time.

A millibit may not be particularly useful, but a mb per second is a
completely valid unit if a little (!) unusable in today's rush, rush world.

eg: my 7.5 Mb/s service is 7.5 Gmb/s... tempting: I can get 120 Gb/s now...
