Default Opinions needed: Fix & sell Canon A1, sell broken or just scrap?

I've got a Canon A1 here that I bought a few years which has
broken down on me. There's no response at all from the meter or
shutter, seems an electronic fault rather than a mechanical one.
It broke down just the same way once before and I had it fixed, but
obviously the repair didn't hold up. Anyway, I need to decide
what to do with this, and since it's a spare camera and I've pretty
much decided to go digital I see three options:

1) I could pay to get it fixed and then try to sell it.

2) I could just try to sell it as is, hoping somebody would buy
it who was confident of being able to fix it himself.

3) I could give up and use it as a paperweight.

What would you all do in this situation?

Option 2 may be appealing to those on e-bay who buy cameras as spare
parts sources. Likewise a local camera repair shop might see it in the
same light.

Option 1 is very unlikely to turn you any profit.

Concider what you might want for it as is. I have a few A-1 bodies and
would be interested in it as is. Did the last repair have any details as to
what faulted?

those that don't.

I don't know what you paid for a repair or what going price for a A1
at a dealer is but the A1 seems to sell in the $120 to $150 range on
eBay.

The only "as-is" A1 I saw (a "squeaker") was at about $30.00 (auction
was still running).

I think I would list it as-is on eBay if it were my camera.

there was a guy in here earlier looking for an A-1 for spare parts to
fix his broken A-1...maybe he wants it (for a reasonable price, I'm
sure)

Sell on Ebay disclosing the problem.
There are repair people out there that
will buy them.

Sell it on Ebay for "parts only". I'm surprised at what some items will
sell for. Then again I just bought a junk motor drive for my F3 for $38
plus shipping. It was worth it to me because it allowed me to fix my broken
MD at a price I couldn't pay someone to fix it or replace it. The odd's of
you paying $100 plus to fix yours and then selling it for way more is a crap
shoot.

Thanks all for the great (and prompt) response! I think I will
eBay it, tonight or tomorrow.
