Cable release via hot shoe?
My Olympus 770UZ does not accept a convential cable release (it does have a
remote). I called Olympus service re the above and they acknowledged that they don't supply a cable release for this model. However, the customer service representative explained that there is an after market cable release available that works via the hot shoe. I called several local retailers and they have never even heard of such a thing. My question: does anyone out there know of a cable release that will work via the hot shoe? Thanks, Bill |

I don't see how anything connected to the hotshoe could actually trip the camera shutter. It sounds as if the service rep was confusing a hot shoe mounted flash cable with a cable release. |

Thanks, Bill Kaiser makes a strap-on cable release adapter that fits any camera with a circumfrance of up to 6". It accepts standard screw-in cable releases. Porter's sells them. -- To reply no_ HPMarketing Corp. |

Thanks, Bill If your camera has a self timer and a remote, you can probably use the remote as a cable release, albeit with timing issues from pressing the button, to actually making an exposure. ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
