Use of Gray Card (Grey Card)
I wonder if distance matters when measuring exposure using gray card.
I am using a SLR camera that offers spot metering. As long as the spot metering area is completely covered by the gray card, does it matter if the gray card is held at a close or far distance from the camera? I guess I should do the experiment myself, but wonder if anyone knows the answer for sure. Jonathan

Much more important can be the angle of the card. I would place the card square on to the lens axis. Happy to be contradicted, so long as you say why. -- Alan F Cross
