I accidentally busted my Olympus Stylus Epic P&S shooter. Took it to the
camera store for an estimate of repairs. To replace the door and power
switch will cost $20 less than a brand new Stylus. This is a bit rich for
a camera with a few miles on it. Does anyone have experience doing
repairs on this camera?

Specifically, the switch was damaged when the door was opened too far. If
I could get the door off in one piece, the repair should be fairly easy.
This little P&S has worked faithfully for years otherwise.

Paying to fix it is folly.

hah and so many people say insurance is a rip off. i opted for the
accidental damage option just to be on the safe side.
