Wow! 8G?! That's insane. Personally, since I only recently made the
switch to digital from film, I find it "weird" enough to be able to
shoot around 300 high-res frames on my 1G card (as opposed to being
confined to 36 exp. on a roll of film). I don't know what I'd do with
an 8G card! I might not stop to eat or sleep being able to shoot that
many frames in a row...

Thanks for posting the article.

So... what's new?? Lexar had it *for months* already.
Example: http://www.adorama.com/ILXCF408G.html
although for a "small fortune."

More interesting is rather the lower price and the new NAND
based technology which will put Sandisk back on the top spot
in terms of speed. Lexar needed some time to match the Sandisk
Extreme and Ultra II lines of CF cards and made a "2nd release"
of their 80x Pro series to finally barely outgun Sandisk.

Now Sandisk is back with their new technology. Furthermore,
Sandisk has the best card-to-computer speed of transmission.
Let's see what Lexar will do now... I am so uneasy about
these "Made in China" on Sandisk's products and the many
complaints about loss of data which surfaced on the web.
They seem to commit now toward best quality pro usage,
maybe they got the reliability issue under control.
