Default Canon A80 and A95 swivel lens - users experience please

I have been thinking about getting one of these cameras and am
cocerned that the swivel lens will be hard to get used to. My thought
is that for 90% of pictures you would be using it flat against the
camera but you have to go to the trouble of opening it each time.
Looking at one in a store I notice that you can swivel and put it back
into its slot but the image shown I assume would be upside down.

Also I have read that if you need to use the viewfinder that it is
extreemly inaccurate on a what you see and get basis

What are the thoughts of those that have and use this camera?

I have the A95. It's a very usefull feature. And no, the image is not
upside down.

I did put a screen protector on it. Got a pack for PDA's and covered it. I
leave the LCD out all the time.

The image switches orientation automatically--just like it does on many
video cameras when flipped, turned, etc.

The automagic reversible image feature for the flip-out twist-around LCD
is quite useful. However, if one prefers to view the native
(un-reversed) image, one can simply disable the feature via the menu.
