you're most welcome. I like to point
out where bad smells come from, rather
than let them waft around.

Then whyncha learn to set followups to one group so the stench is
limited?

yaaaaawn

Ah, so it *is* beyond your comprehension why one would do that.

This post is off-topic for this newsgroup, rec.photo.equipment.35mm,
which is concerned with film cameras that use 35mm film, not digital
cameras that look like 35mm SLRs.

Please use an appropriate newsgroup for postings on digital cameras. One
of the following groups would be a good place for such postings:

rec.photo.digital
rec.photo.digital.point+shoot
rec.photo.digital.rangefinder
rec.photo.digital.slr
rec.photo.digital.slr-systems

(Note that the list of groups available to you depends on what your ISP
or news provider carries, and may differ from this list)

save your pennies , get a new camera, film was dead years ago, wake up

for something that "was dead years ago", it's showing
a remarkable lack of staying power.
but then again, scammers like you wouldn't be

they'd need to run it by photoslop...

I don't know what it's like in your corner of the world, but you can
hardly even buy film here anymore except in dedicated camera shops,

bull****. and what proof is that of "dead years ago"?

and even then the selection is limited. Oh, you might find a roll or
two of cheapo Superia in the WalMart, but that's about it.

bull****. and what proof is that of "dead years ago"?

btw, use Superia 400: it's one of the best colour
negative films out there and scans superb! Cheap, too.

I almost broke down and ordered some B&W film the other day, but then
I realized that nobody in my town even develops it anymore.

nobody has developed b&w commercially in the last
40 years, moron! Anyone doing b&w soups their own,
period. Been like that for decades! Eons!

At least we do have a good place that does 2-hour development of
slides, but his business is drying up, too. Mostly he just does
digital printing now.

His problem.

All I have to do is walk 500 yards to the nearest
shopping mall and there are three - that's 3! - places
that will develop film on the spot as well as print
digital or film, of course.

As for getting film, been buying it off epay at a
great price and good quality, just have to look for a
reliable supplier. Gets on my doorstep 48 hours after I
click on "buy now". That's for the "exotics".

The run of the mill stuff like Reala, Velvia or Provia 400X,
I get at the shop: four of them within easy walk of my
lunchtime break. One is even a specialist in digital
cameras who also has a brain and keeps catering for the
film folks: they are return business, digital-heads aren't.
They even stock Ilfosol3, a brand new developer from Ilford!
Guess which business is rock solid while other "digital-only"
shops are crumbling?

Slide is dirt easy: I drop it at the guy who does
all my 120 film and slides at lunchtime and pick it
up next day, lunchtime as well. For your information,
that is FASTER than I ever got it in the good days of
film, the 80s!

So much for all the crap theories of "film is dead"...
Then again this being the Usenet, nothing like wild
claims to scam some more business for digital, eh?
Problem is no one cares about the Usenet anymore...

Neither did you. Nothing to do with wifes, all
to do with gutters: the place you and the other trolls
live in.

What an odd statement. I have used commercial B&W processing many times
in the past forty years. Usually when I did not have a place to setup my
darkroom equipment. I can take a roll of B&W down to my local Shopko
right now and be able to pick it up in two days. Not speedy but it's there.

What an odd statement. NO one needs "darkroom equipment"
setup to develop a roll of b&w film.

All you need is a tank, couple of plastic measures, change bag,
thermometer, wrist watch, chemicals and a pair of scissors.

Which is precisely and exactly why so few people
ever bothered sending b&w to develop.

and it'll cost you a lot more than doing it at home
with the previous equipment. Assuming of course
you're not talking about chromogenic.
