Default Camera strap review:Peak Slide Lite.

Following Duck's advice I got a Peak Design Slide Lite for the X-T3 +
grip, and gave it its first try today.

I can confirm that the narrower "lite" strap is fine for this combination.

It's nicely finished, but so it should be at the price. IMHO it is only
just long enough over an ordinary coat, and might be short with a thick
skiing-type jacket. I'm 180 lbs so not particularly large.

With the adjustment clips right up against the connector, and the two
toggle thingies in the single bar on the bottom of the grip, it is a
little cluttered around the right hand in portrait mode. I might
experiment with a secondary loop of good rigging cord.

So I think I would rate it OK to Good, but not outstanding. It comes
with a couple of spare toggle thingies, and two nice narrow split loops
to go on the standard strap fixings. Also a screw plate to go into the
tripod socket, to take the toggles.

Personally I can't see myself ever attaching to the tripod socket,
unless with an adaptor plate with a socket in it (or perhaps an Arca
fitting).

I will carry on experimenting though. I will try fitting one end to the
grip, the other to one of the normal fittings. Probably worth saying I
would normally only carry a compact around the neck, once you get to the
size of X-series with a standard lens I much prefer a diagonal strap.
And I now *never* carry a neck-length strap over one shoulder, after
dropping the X-E1 and 10-24 on the stone floor of a museum, half
removing the mount from the lens. I was pleasantly surprised to find the
repair less than £200.
