Wouldn't that be "D100 Killer"?

That too. And unfortunately makes things a bit bleak right out
of the gate for those of us looking forward to the first Minolta
Maxxum 7D that will come out this fall...

It's odd (in an interesting way) that Canon made the 20D available for review
by so many guys (Reichmann, Galbraith, Steve) just as it's being introduced
(and a month before Photokina) but Minolta hasn't done the same thing with the
7D even though they announced it last February.

If the AS-on-a-sensor works for up to 2-3 stops (like the better VR and IS
lenses) you'd think Minolta would be eager to get this reviewed so people would
be talking about it. This seems to be the most innovative feature of this
camera and their main hope of wooing anyone other than current Minolta lens
owners.

But 6 Mpix competing against 8 Mpix is otherwise a hard sell, assuming they are
in the same price range as the 20D.

Well, there you've hit something that might help us Minolta glass
holders, the price point of the 20D might hold the 7D down. Then
again, due to the glass divide, it won't be a hard limit... the
AS is definitely the strongest feature for the 7D as you say above.

Cheers,
Alan
