Hi,
I had decided to buy the Canon 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 when I came
across
the Tokina 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6. I looked at eBay and both can be had
for
about ~$200 used, which is my upper spending limit for a telephoto
zoom
lens.
One more
Throw the Sigma 70-300mm APO f/4-5.6 also in the ring.
Ended up buying:
- Sigma 24-135mm f/2.8-4.5
- Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DL Super Macro II
- Hoods for both lenses
- Set of filters for both lenses - UV/C-PL/flouroscent
- carrying bags for both
- Samsonite carrying case
All for $242.50. The whole thing was a package deal on eBay otherwise I
might've just bought the APO version of the Sigma.
Now, I know the 70-300mm DL Super II Macro is a not as good as the APO
version but at photodo its 2.9 vs the 3.1 of the APO, the 2.3 of the
Tokina and 2.4 of the Canon I was considering earlier.
Thanks for all the responses.
