Default David Bowie by Steven Klein on Vogue

In article ,
EPerfido [smallstudio.com] says...

On L'UOMO Vogue, september 2003 the editorial "IS THIS CONCRETE ALL
AROUND" photographed by Steven Klein...

Any idea of how those pic were made ?

Educated guess, I'd say.

Digit/analog, light setup, location...and so on ?

Can be digital, can be analog, wouldn't make any
difference for a trained pro, given that you use a
good DSLR.

The light setup seems to be a very large scrim
or softbox (maybe an autolight) directly overhead
in the studio, slightly in the photographers direction
and very likely with honeycomb grid or louvers
mounted. Just check the direction and softness of shadow
borders under stool and bed.

The secret seems to be slight fill with ring flash,
check the girl's sunglasses for that.

Location is with 99% a studio. Check
http://www.moonagedaydream.it/immagi...ue/pict03a.jpg
and look at how the installations end on the bottom.
The wall looks like removable and from styrofoam,
doesn't it?

Some scans i found on the net..

Nice work, but excellent set building.
