Default Flash sync troubles

Hi everybody, I have a question about my Cannon EOS Rebel Ti. While
reading the manual I learned that my camera allows manually setting the
flash sync speed but it does not actually say how to set it. Is this a
setting that I would find on a seperate flash module or is it a setting
for the built in flash that I am missing. Anybody familiar enough with
this model to answer this? I would greatly appreciate it!

I found some neat tricks to try with a flash but I can't try most of
them without figuring this out first.

New user and relatively new to the photography game. I was not really
sure where to ask this so sorry if its in the wrong place. --

Hi.

You set the camera to "Tv" mode and then set the shutter (flash sync) speed
yourself. If you use "P" mode then the camera chooses the shutter (flash
sync) speed.
Page 49 of the manual is headed "Using the Built-in Flash". Read the
paragraphs for the "P" and "Tv" modes.
If you haven't got the manual to hand then -

The flash sync speed is 1/90 so you can use the flash with shutter speeds
longer than 1/90. If you choose a shutter speed which is shorter than 1/90
then I reckon the camera may override your choice if the flash is charged
and ready for use.

Slow sync is great fun because your photo will be lit by both flash and
ambient light.
