If it's a compact camera being advertised in the photo, yes. ;-)

It wouldn't matter for most billboard sized ads - the viewer is too far
away to see pixel level detail. When you see a billboard by the side of
the road it is about the same as holding up a 6x4 print at arms length.

That said, in most professionally produced "billboard" advertising the
photographers use appropriately professional equipment whether 35mm, MF
or even LF. Because the advertising photography being done for that is
also going to be used for magazines, poster advertising and so on.
