Originally, I wanted to get the Pentax 50-200mm, because most of the

The SMC Pentax DA 16-45mm f/4 ED AL would be an excellent choice. It
is a far superior lens to the 18-55mm with excellent sharpness and
better control of rectilinear distortion.

It should have good correction, it is slow as molasses. But then
there is an f2.8 for about $900.
For $400, you could get:
