A new breed of cattle
A new Dutch cross-breed of cattle was presented this week. It is named
Rode Geus, Rode (=red) after its red color and Geus after the protestant
fighters against the Spanish rule of The Netherlands in the 16th and 17th
century. The cow can live outside all year around without human
interference. It is meant to graze the growing number of nature reserves.
This 4 year old beauty Nadine is the oldest female of the breed.
