Default Minolta - Sony

It looks like Sony is bringing over more than just the lens.

Their HVL-F56AM and HVL-F36AM flash units look like rebranded 5600HS and
3600HS Minolta units. The only question is will the mounts be
compatible? I wonder the the A100 will be able to mount the current
Minolta units or be able to wirelessly control them, and vise versa?

Yes, that's the plan and yes, those are re-branded Minolta flashes.

Not sure if "Sony" products will work retro-actively with Minolta
products, however, but initially it is a good guess that they will.

Sony are building this niche on the existing customer base. If they
start incompatibility games, they risk a lot of customers. The fact
that the A100 uses CF is a very good sign.

(See my other post, today, on the A100 as well).

Cheers,
Alan
